I am Toukir Islam, a security professional based in West Palm Beach, Florida. I work in loss prevention and site security, and I write this site from real experience on the job — not from theory.
Licenses and credentials
I hold a Florida Class D (Unarmed) Security Officer license and a Florida Class G (Armed) Security Officer license, both active. I also hold a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), active through October 2031, which covers access to secure maritime and port facilities.
My other training includes CPR and First Aid, FEMA emergency-management courses IS-100.c, IS-200.c and IS-700.b, and CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention. I completed the hospital-clearance courses required for healthcare security work, including healthcare essentials and stair safety.
Experience
I have worked as a security officer and as an operations manager with direct security oversight — access control, shift coverage, patrol, incident reporting, and training staff on theft awareness and loss-prevention practices. I served as a volunteer access-control and asset-protection officer for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Miami, and I am a Loss Prevention Officer with The Ritz-Carlton Residences in Palm Beach Gardens.
Before security, I worked in retail operations, where I learned how theft actually happens in a store: at the door, at the register, in the stockroom, and in the returns line. That is the perspective behind the loss-prevention articles on this site.
Education
I am a student at Florida International University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, with more than 60 credits completed and an expected graduation in 2028. I also debated competitively in college, serving as Assistant General Secretary of the Notre Dame Debating Club in Mymensingh and competing at the national debate festival in Dhaka in 2017.
