JPMorgan Just Banned AI Agents From Your Bank Account — “You Don’t Want Rogue Agents”

America’s largest bank just drew a hard line on AI agents. On its October 13 earnings call, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon said the bank will not let outside AI agents log into customer accounts or act on their behalf: “We’re not going to allow just any outside agent to come in inside the company, because it’s just too risky for clients and for JPMorgan. You don’t want rogue agents, and it could be thousands of them.”

The practical effect: assistants like Meta’s Muse can still view a Chase balance through open-banking connectors like Plaid, but they cannot send money, pay a bill, or move funds. Charles Schwab announced a similar block the same week. Dimon also warned customers that if they hand their credentials to an agent and it does something they don’t want, the liability is on them.
